All the good shows are piled onto Sunday nights, so from now until the season ends, don’t ask me to do anything for you on a Sunday night – I’m busy!
I start off watching “The Good Wife” on CBS. I really like a show about politics and lawyers – they have such an abundance of story lines to work with, every episodes is entertaining. If I miss one of the Good Wife episodes, I can pull it up “On Demand” and watch it later, but I like to start my Sunday Night TV marathon with that show.
Next up is “The Vikings” on the History Channel. This is a fictional story based on historic events and lifestyles. The producers have gone to a lot of trouble to replicate the actual clothing, tools, homes, and weapons of that period. I like the idea of making them intelligent, real people and not just some phantom figures buried in a history book.
The third show on Sunday night is “Game of Thrones.” This is a totally fictional show with a complicated cast of characters. It is based on a series of books, so if you have read the books you might be surprised to see how some of it is depicted and how some parts were left out. But overall, this is very entertaining and includes kings, knights, dragons, and several different races of people all either going to war or making alliances with neighboring kingdoms. I’m very tempted to buy the books, but I think I will wait until this season is over and read the book in the off-season.
